BPD Therapy in Manchester

If you live with BPD, or traits related to emotional intensity or relational difficulties, you may struggle to feel safe and understood in relationships. Therapy can offer a consistent, non-judgemental space to make sense of overwhelming feelings and build more stable ground.

As a BACP-registered therapist, I provide one-to-one therapy in Manchester for people experiencing traits of BPD or emotional dysregulation. Our work is led by you: your pace, your needs, your story. Together, we’ll explore what it means to live with intense emotions, and how you might begin to feel more connected and in control.

If you’d like to talk about how therapy could support you with BPD, I’m here when you're ready.

Understanding BPD

Living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can feel like an emotional rollercoaster - intense, unpredictable, and often exhausting. You might experience sudden mood shifts, fear of abandonment, or feel like your emotions are too big to manage. Relationships may feel difficult to maintain, and even small things can trigger overwhelming reactions.

It’s also common to feel misunderstood by loved ones, friends, or even by professionals. You may struggle with your sense of self, feel disconnected from who you are, or experience long-standing patterns that leave you feeling stuck or ashamed.

You don’t need a formal diagnosis to feel the impact of these experiences. Whether you've recently discovered the term BPD or have been living with it for years, therapy can offer a space to better understand yourself and find new ways to navigate the world.

How BPD Therapy Can Help

Therapy offers a calm, consistent space to explore the patterns and feelings that may feel chaotic or confusing elsewhere. You won’t be judged, labelled, or expected to “get it all together.” Instead, you’ll be met with compassion, curiosity, and the freedom to go at your own pace.

Together, we might explore:

  • How emotional intensity shows up in your day-to-day life

  • What triggers feelings of abandonment or rejection

  • Patterns in relationships that feel hard to break

  • Your sense of identity and how it may shift or feel uncertain

  • The impact of past trauma or invalidating environments

BPD therapy isn’t about changing who you are—it’s about creating a sense of stability, helping you feel safer in your relationships, and reconnecting with parts of yourself that may have been hidden or silenced.

My Approach

There is no one way BPD looks or feels, and I’ll never ask you to fit into a particular box. Some people come to therapy feeling emotionally overwhelmed; others feel numb, distant or unsure where to start. However you show up, we’ll work with that.

My approach is person-centred, which means I take the time to understand your experience as you see it, not as a set of symptoms, but as part of your wider story. You set the pace, and we’ll explore the areas that matter most to you.

When it’s helpful, I may draw on compassion-focused therapy, trauma-informed practice, or work with attachment patterns, especially if we’re exploring experiences that have shaped how you relate to others. But at the core, our work will be about creating a space where you feel heard, held and able to be fully yourself.

Why work with me

I’m a Trauma-Informed Level-4 Certified, BACP-registered therapist (you can see my credentials here) with additional training in trauma, attachment, dissociation and emotional regulation. I understand how painful it can be to feel misunderstood, or to carry the weight of labels that don’t capture the whole of who you are.

You won’t need to censor yourself, explain everything, or mask your feelings here. I offer a steady, grounded space where all parts of you are welcome - even the ones that feel messy, conflicted or hard to name.

Together, we can begin to understand what’s been driving your emotional world, and find gentler ways to live with it.

Ready to begin?

If you’re navigating the challenges of BPD and want support, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. You’re welcome to share what’s on your mind, ask questions or simply get a sense of what it’s like to talk.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. Just a safe space to begin exploring, and someone alongside you as you do.

I provide a range of counselling services to accommodate your unique needs and preferences.

All interactions are available in 30-minute and 60-minute clinical sessions, with prices from £30.
